Gender reveal parties are becoming more and more popular lately. I’m sure you’ve all seen the videos of people surprising their guests by cutting cakes to reveal either a pink or blue filling, or opening large boxes filled with pink or blue balloons. They can be a really fun and exciting way to generate excitement for the arrival of your little bundle. Another fun and slightly more subtle way to reveal the gender of your baby, is by wearing a gender reveal dress.
The fun thing about a gender reveal dress, is that you could be wearing it in plain sight and people might not catch on. Just because you’re wearing pink, doesn’t necessarily mean you are having a girl, right?
A fun game you could play with this idea is to keep small tokens for your guests (a certificate, for example) and hand them out to the guests that correctly guessed your baby’s gender based on your dress. Or, if you want to go big, you could wear a long coat over the dress and do a big reveal by throwing the coat off your shoulders, diva-style, to reveal either a pink or a blue dress. The possibilities are endless here.
Gender Reveal Dresses For Mom.
I’ve compiled a small list of some of my favorite pink and blue maternity dresses.
This pretty lace maternity dress by Hello Miz is both flattering and stunning. It ranges in sizes from small to extra-large and looks good on any body type. This dress hugs your curves in the most flattering way and I’m sure you’ll feel comfortable and confident in it.
It can run small though, so it is suggested that you buy the next size up to be properly comfortable in it – and also to accommodate your growing bump.
Bhome Maternity Bodycon Dress Short Sleeve Ruched Sides Knee Length Midi Dress Burgundy This block color Bhome maternity dress is really versatile. It can not only be worn as your gender reveal dress, but it also works for the office, a wedding or any other occasion you’ve got coming up. Team it with comfortable flats for a day at the office or a lunch date, or dress it up with statement jewelry for a dinner date or wedding. You’ll get plenty of wear out of this dress, which I know is important when buying maternity clothes.
The material might be a little thin for some though, so you might want to go for a patterned version rather than a solid color as the patterned ones seem to be slightly thicker.
MissQee Women’s Maternity Dress Off Shoulder Casual Maxi Dress This maternity dress by MissQee is another solid color dress that also comes in patterned versions if you don’t love the block color. It’s very summery so would be perfect for a summer baby shower or gender reveal party. The neckline can be worn down off the shoulder or up over the shoulder if preferred. This is another one of those dresses that you can get plenty of wear out of throughout your pregnancy.
Some women have complained that the sizing of this dress runs a little big, though, so you may need to size down if you want it to be form-fitting. Alternatively, you could get your usual size and have room to grow in to it.
My Bump Women’s Premium Lace Baby Shower Party Knee Length Maternity Dress This lace dress by My Bump is probably my favorite of all the dresses here. It’s so pretty and flattering and again, can be worn for several occasions throughout your pregnancy. It’s extremely soft and comfortable and has been made with good quality lace. The bow is removable too if that’s not your thing.
If you do decide to keep the ribbon on, there are no little loops to hold it in place, so you will have to continually adjust it throughout the day. I’d say that’s a small price to pay for this beautiful dress, though.
